The Healing Power of Touch…and Stroking Dogs

I came across this article about the healing power of touch when it comes to patting and stroking dogs. How the health benefits of keeping a dog help people with chronic pain reduce their painkillers, and how visits from Patting Dogs at hospitals bring cheer and warmth. This is something so human and deep within us. My own 2 dogs, a Chihuahua and a Jack Russell, are absolutely my best friends; it’s just a shame that dogs don’t have a longer life span.

We used to have a cocker spaniel, a rescue dog. We bought him for our son when he was ill for a time – became a very much loved member of the family. Definitely saw the benefits.

I’m glad your son is better now. Dogs, I would say, are definitely our closest companions – – – we need to remember to treat them with kindness and respect and not take them for granted.
