A Tortoise for May

31 May

1 of 4.  Meet May, a soft toy tortoise made from vintage fabrics (thx Elaine!).  May is machine and hand stitched with new and vintage buttons, filled with safe polyester filling, perfumed with a few drops of essential lavender oil.  Her sisters will vary slightly (as you will later see).

What an excellent way of using the vintage fabric, well done you, they look so summery and ‘cool’. Tell me, have you been painting your real tortoise’s shell, it looks quite blue in the gallery? Fantastic idea of making them an edible garden all of their own. Enjoy the sunshine xxx

Elaine, you should have seen the big smile on my face, I couldn’t believe how much and just how lovely all that fabric was (is) when I opened the package. As for torty shell looking blue, that must be down to the lighting in her house! That tortoise (called May) is one of 4…I just need to stuff and sew up the parts of the others 😉 Take care x x x
