About Curvalicious

The Stacked * CRAFTY * Journal of Mistress Curvalicious…

Presently very much into sewing soft toys, and setting up my new sewing toys site.

www.SewingToys.com

Older posts on this blog include topics (other than toy making): general sewing, embroidery and x stitch, baking, and other things I come across including every day journalling.

Why I called this blog Curvalicious?: I get tired of hearing about women who are not NATURALLY a size 0 being constantly bullied by the media into getting unnaturally thin.  Of course, people come in all shapes and sizes – and I am not talking about being drastically overweight – if someone is naturally small, then that is healthy for them.  What I object to, personally, is despite being a  tall, naturally staturesque, hourglass, I am supposed to be starving myself into being thin!  Why should I? Life is hard enough without making yourself ill over your looks.  There is far too much pressure on how you look – and what you have – today.

Fashion should be fun – not a dictatorship!

I feel, especially since my chronic health problems (3+ years – a legacy of domestic violence), that if people spent more time not watching tv and making and doing things (especially with the people you love) – and indeed have less material goods! – we would be happier.  I cope with living with chronic pain and the mobility problems by sewing soft toys, among creating other things.  It is ironic, that I had to be hurting that much to discover a kind of inner peace and appreciation of the little things in life…

I would just like to add: I know that there are quite a few people now reading my blog – my free patterns and soft toy book reviews are the most popular.  I would much appreciate if you have read my blog, and maybe taken one of my FREEbies to leave me a comment.  Everyone likes to be appreciated 🙂
